World championship decided on the schedule

On October, 25 the regular meeting of the Directorate for the preparation and conduct XXXIV world championship on bandy which will take place in January-February 2014 in Irkutsk, took place. The meeting was chaired by head of the Directorate and the President of Federation of bandy of the Irkutsk region Vladimir Маtienko.

The main issue of the agenda was the prior approval of the draft calendar of «A» group. This group includes the strongest team of eight, which are divided into two subgroups. Group «A» includes Russia, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Finland, subgroup «B» — Norway, the USA, Belarus, Canada.

To present date, the calendar of matches of «A» group already written and agreed with the International Federation of bandy. According to the calendar, the first games of the world championship will take place on January, 26. On this day, at 12 o'clock the United States and Belarus will play at the stadium «Zenith», and the match Norway — Canada will be held at the stadium «Builder» in Shelekhov.

The international Federation of bandy, which administers the final approval of the calendar adjusted the start time of matches involving the national team of Sweden and the final match. The Swedish national team matches will start in 20:00. Therefore, the Swedish fans, given the time difference, will able to watch the matches of their national team in a live broadcast.

But the final meeting, which will take place on 2-d February, will begin unusually early — at14:00. This is because the live broadcast of the decisive match will lead channel «Eurosport», and this meeting will be able to see the fans all around the world.

For the team of the strongest of the four (subgroup «A»), they will hold their matches at the stadium «Trud». Game Russia — Kazakhstan will be held on January, 26 at 16.00, the game Sweden — Finland — at 20.00. The opening ceremony scheduled before the match Sweden-Finland at 19.30.

The second issue of agenda «On the preparation of a book on the history of Irkutsk bandy dedicated to the forthcoming world championship», told editor Mikhail Klimov. We remind that the book will not be a «standard» calendar-book, and elegant deluxe edition, which will reflect all the milestones of Irkutsk bandy, celebrating next year its 90th anniversary.

Work on the book is almost a year, in full compliance with the schedule, and to present date, the «creative» part is ready to about 90 percent, and by mid-November edition is planned to be put into print. Presentation of the book will take place on the opening day of the world championship in the press center.

The question of the stationing of the judiciary is resolved. According to the recommendations of the International Federation of bandy, the judges should be separate from the other championship participants. From the offered variants preference made the hotel «Victoria», arranged the Directorate on all parameters in terms of price and location. Besides, at the disposal of judges will be provided with a conference hall that will be internal parsing matches. Here will be held a special umpires seminar.

Currently being invisible to outsiders, but a very important and painstaking work to ensure flight teams participating in the world championship in Irkutsk. Currently the national federations of bandy sent out official invitations to participate in the tournament, as well as technical writing, necessary for obtaining visa.

As it known, on the conditions of the world championship, the organizers provide all participants the flight from Moscow to Irkutsk and back. It is need to «build» flights in order for participants to arrive in Irkutsk with the least expenses of time.

Correspondence with the countries continuous, and the Directorate, in addition to it`s main duties, need to be addressed and questions arising with the wishes of the teams. So, currently studying an opportunity for team Finland fly to Irkutsk from St. Petersburg, and for team of USA — provide a convenient dock on their return home.

In addition, the team of Belarus, informed the organizers that is going to hold a training camp before the world Cup. Therefore, in our city Belarusians will arrive in advance at its own expense. And as compensation for flight Belarus asks to organize the a training camp. Directorate decided to meet the Belarusian side and the host team during her five-day gathering is likely to be a stadium «Zenith».
